Lyle R. Berry  has  been  writing  poetry  for  about  twenty eight years now.   His first work was strongly  influenced by the free verse of the Beat Generation; poets like  Lawrence Ferlinghetti   and  Alan  Ginsberg.   At   present   he  enjoys experimenting   with   diverse   forms   such  as  Elizabethan sonnet,   the   Haiku,    Ghazal,    Pantoum,    Sestina,    Sijo, Cinquain  among  others.   Lyle R. Berry   is  also   a  singer and    musician.     He   plays   the   guitar,     electric   bass,  harmonica    and   synthesizer.    He   writes   songs   in   all genres.   He first turned a poem into a  rock  ballad  in 1972 while  he was on  the  nuclear powered  aircraft  carrier USS Enterprise in Viet Nam.  Nowadays, besides writing  poems  and  songs he composes music  for other's   lyrics.
